I LOVE maps. I have drawn them since I was a kid. Every story idea gives birth to a map. It’s one of the first things I begin to sketch out to get an idea of where everything is located and in relation to each other. Nälu went through many, many revisions as well. Their locations remained roughly the same, but their names changed a great deal. I have a large map that I drew up and hung on my wall for awhile. Since our move, I haven’t been able to find it. Oops. The words along the map of Nälu are written in Táchil. They refer to the three pillars of the Guardian Circle and coincide with the words inked on their cheekbones and foreheads. Blood. Water. Fire.
Have a great weekend! Next week begins the Darkened Hope Read-along! I hope you’ll join us!
Hey, you’ve got a map of your own! How did you make this one? As a map aficionado I’m always curious. Did you include it in the print or digital copy?
I’m sorry you lost your poster!
Hi DJ! I did make it. I hand drew it first, then scanned it into the computer, and then tweaked it in photoshop. I did include it in both the ebook and paperback, but I’m not happy with how it sits in the paperback, but I didn’t mess with it too much. I am hoping to learn how to format books in inDesign for my next book. We’ll see!
I’m sure it’s here somewhere! Ha!
Thanks for stopping by!
